WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 19th at 7:00 PM at the Pittsburgh Civic Garden Center Fifth and Shady Avenues
The January meeting will consist of a slide show and a hands on propagation demonstration.
The slide show presentation will be by Keith Scott. He will be showing slides taken in the 1960's and 1970's of Japanese bonsai nurseries.
After the slide show, we will have a hands-on demonstration of propagation from seed. We will try to propagate crabapples, elms and similar seeds. Please go out into your garden, and gardens of neighbors, with permission, to gather crabapples to bring to the meeting. The society will provide flats and soil mix for our use.
Spot Lite Trees: Anyone bringing a tree to a meeting will receive an extra door prize ticket. If you bring the type of tree being discussed, you will receive two door prize tickets instead of one.

Meeting Dates
Christmas Gala: A great turn out of 58 members and guests made for a grand time at the annual dinner. Tigano's restaurant furnished a wonderful array of very tasty food. Beautiful decorations, favors, and numerous door prizes enhance the holiday spirit which was shared with old and new friends. We want to thank the following for their donations of door prizes; handmade sleigh bells by Clark Brock, pots by Keith Scott, flower arrangements by Claudia Shields, and several pots left to the society by Ralph Lang. The whole event had the touch of Martha Stewart.
